Gosh when was the last time I posted?Anyway, things have gotten so crazy busy lately I couldn't find the time to write a post. We just celebrated my brother's wedding (finally that's done) (might try to post some pics). I couldn't imagine that last minute problems that could sabotage the whole thing. So the night before the wedding I was so stressed and helpless, I couldn't do anything else but to trust God and thankfully everything went on according to plan.
Anywhoo, I restocked my make- up essentials because my make up bag is officially lost :'( the only thing that I regret that was there was the 2 revlon lipsticks my aunt gave me (it was coral and I loved that lipstick). Just a quick review on the make up thingies I just bought.
(from left to right: Nichido Kabuki Brush, Human <3 Nature Blush (Tropical Rose) and Human <3 Nature pressed powder (Island Shell)
I always love Human <3 Nature products because I am assured that what I'm using is safe for me. They only use 100% organic products and I'm very conscious about the ingredients that are included in my makeup.
I'm really not sure which is the culprit but I have to apply the blush a dozen times to make the color stay on my face. Since its organic it tends to be lighter than other chemical- laden products. I use my kabuki brush to also apply the blush and I think that's the reason why I'm kind of having a hard time applying it (I have to save up again to buy another brush set :( The color suits me just fine (I got caught up between choosing a darker pink one but I thought it wouldn't match my skin tone) So I say this one is perfect for me.
I absolutely love the pressed powder :) It feels so light on my skin but still does its job of controlling the oil. I really hate the itchy feeling that some powders give me and when I usually feel that from using other powders it causes me to break out.
I've wanted to buy this for the longest time and finally I have it :) I used to try this on the counter by pressing it on my palm and it felt to soft. At P230 I say this is a good deal for a kabuki brush. But the only complain I could give it is it's too loose I think? Or the bristles aren't that compact, making me have to brush it on the pressed powder again and again

The last year of my college journey
School just started last June 13 (and it's June 23 as I'm writing this) and already there's so many things to do that all I could think about is how to get through and finish all the school work load. Thesis, an event we are assigned to produce, Philosophy class, Theology class, Advertising...Well what better way can the school give me as a hurdle to overcome in my last year? I just need to change how I view things and not see them as "difficult" but rather challenging. :)

Pre-nup video done!
hhaaaaaaaaaa...now I can breathe a sigh of relief. I'm 98% done with my brother's pre-nup video. I procrastinated so much on this projects that it took me 2 months to finish this. I did not have a clue how to put the videos together because when I reviewed my shots, I realized I only had limited descent ones that were not blurry or too shaky. But mostly because of my cluelessness xc. I had to wait for the photographer's copies to fill my video. I also had to wrestle with my brain to make the creative juices flow. Now I just have to let my boyfriend review it for finalization and that will be crossed off the wedding to do list xc.

my 3rd blog reconstruction
okay so I redesigned my blog for the 3rd time...There are a lot of things that has been going around my mind and I don't think my previous blog theme could encapsulate it. I wanted to incorporate nature in my blog I still want to have a dainty feel to it...so yeah hence La Bella Flora. Yes it's also because of my capricious whims and also because of my slight case of OCD (I cannot tell you how many times I did trial- and- error on the layout just to achieve the right color)

Parity check please
While I reviewed my past posts I noticed that most of them are grammatically incorrect because I sometime miss out typing a word. I usually just type away and do not rechecking them. (I feel ashamed because in our Journalism class its always SOP to recheck our articles) *sigh* You know that embarrassing feeling when you discovered something is wrong and many people will see it?D: I'm going to be more vigilant next time :)

mother's day gone bad
Last Saturday I was really excited for Mother's day and prepared how to celebrate it on Sunday. But when I got home (I got home around 8:00pm) and both of my parents scolded me for arriving home late. Just when I bought flowers (and arranged it myself with the help of my boyfriend) for my mom and was excited to give it to her, I got a scolding instead. I got so depressed (wich added fuel to my menstrual mood swings), I was a total wreck. Now Mother's Day is coming to an end and I never spoke a single word to my mom. I feel really bad about it and letting my pride consume me. They gave me a chance to make up with all the bad things that happened but I shunned it away. I feel really guilty and now I don't really know how to patch things up with my parents. :(

new name
With much brain- racking and brain storming, I finally arrived with a new name for my blog. The old title was too long and i wanted a shorter and catchier one. So takemebacktothe60s is no more and from now on it will be Damsel's Dress c:

Undo button
Once in a while, we mess up something in our lives. And in times like this, we just wish that life had an undo button. Whether it be a simple mistake as cutting the wrong length of a cloth or to something serious like committing to a relationship you're not sure of making it last, you just wish you can somehow click a button that would erase everything and start from scratch.
I think I've been using photoshop for so long and using the undo key millions of times that sometimes, when I make a mistake, I would stop for a while and literally look for the undo button. And I would mentally smack my head and remind myself that there is no such thing in real life. :(

Allicat
I've really wanted to make a post about this. Allison Harvard is one of my favorite from ANTM (the other is Ann Ward). I love how vintage- y and feminine she always looks, her quirkiness and how she stays out of all the crazy drama in the show.
She has certainly grown in her career as a model. I stopped watching ANTM now because the British Invasion thing was all for the drama. Season 15 was the only season I like because Tyra was serious with producing the top- quality model, and the guests were highly- respected in their craft (photography, fashion design etc). This season's guests? Kris Jener? (I won't even bother to correct the spelling if Im wrong) and all the British girls were fan- girl shrieking :l
Anywhooo...back to Allison
Anywhooo...back to Allison
Allison before ANTM
After the makeover. It's hard to think that she used to be a short brunette because the fluffy blonde mane really suits her
Like all the others, I was really disappointed when she didn't win. She was the most deserving (even in cycle 12). I don't know of anyone who was rooting for Lisa.
Look how pretty she is :)

satisfying a never ending demand
I've been helping my brother with his wedding invitation design. Many days have already passed and we still have not come up yet with the final design. He gets too fussy about the minute details and I have to do it all over again. His designs end up looking like a graduation certificate..ugghhh..if this goes on, the invitations will be sent out late. I have to finish this once in for all.

Facebook...why?!
*Sigh*..When Facebook introduced Timeline waaayy back, people were eager to change their accounts But it never occurred to me to change mine. After visiting my friends' changed profiles, I discovered that with just a few scrolls down your page, a person can view everything that you posted even from the time you first started using Facebook! Talk about mishandled privacy. All the things you said will be visible to anyone. And it's a real feast for stalkers too. BOTTOMLINE: I HATE TIMELINE and I DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY PROFILE! Facebook will make all profiles Timelined on April 8. WHY FACEBOOK?!WHHYYY?? >:l
My brother's prenup shoot
After days and days of planning about the concept for their prenup shoot, today was the day that all of it materialized. It was such a looooooonnngggggg day of shooting but I can say we all had fun. My brother's bride was simply beautiful, that, as I glanced at her, I couldn't help myself gasping a "Wow"
We started really early, waking up at 6:30 and preparing to go to the first venue: the vast and quaint area near Crocodile Park
We started really early, waking up at 6:30 and preparing to go to the first venue: the vast and quaint area near Crocodile Park
It was really hot during the day. I swear I almost fainted from the extreme heat. But my brother and his bride endured the sweltering heat for a good shot.
The next venue was at the beach. It was actually a private property but we managed to sneak in (fufufufufu (--,) ). My brother prepared a lot of props that really made the shoot a lot interesting.
The last venue was at a park where Earth Hour 2012 was held. One of the activities that was planned for this years was the releasing of sky lanterns. The crowd cheered as the first lantern flew to the dark horizon.
Our patience was really tested when it began to rain really hard. It was a big OH NO because we all thought that the sky lanterns will be canceled because of the rain. But after a few minutes the weather permitted the participants to resume with the sky lanterns. Just when we were about to light out lanterns, the rain started to pour heavily again! Yes thanks a lot weather, you're really helping out here. But thankfully it stopped and the sky cleared. Watching the lanterns fly into the sky was really breathtaking. They appeared like stars as they wafted higher and higher.
I really have to commend the photographer for an awesome job. He wasn't afraid to experiment and he was quick and witty enough to utilize the elements from the surroundings. He also inspired me to sharpen my skills a bit in taking pictures. He shared that he just started with a point and shoot camera!
I can't wait for the photos from him and maybe study some of his editing styles ;)

There's a hundred and four days of summer vacation...
I like to look up to Phineas and Ferb as inspirations for greatness (though they're just cartoons). For them, each day presents limitless opportunities, only their imaginations can stop them.
With that said, here's my summer- to- do list (even though I know I won't be able to accomplish most, if not any, of them). Im making this list so that I know I will do something productive this summer.
1. learn (or at least be familiar) with a new language
2. learn to cook a new dish
3. learn an interesting trivia or a new word per day
4. learn a new skill
5. learn techniques in photoshop
There's still a lot of them. But as of now it's all I can think about. Maybe I'll add some more as days come..
Now that summer is here and I'm not really that busy, (and after being so fed up with all the drama people put on Facebook) I decided to go back to blogging. Its really quite annoying to see all the complaining how boring their summer days are or brag about the frappuccino they bought in Starbucks..jusstt..AARRGHHH!!! I know fully well that everyone has the right to express themselves.Woe to me that has to be exposed to these kinds of useless nuisance... and so my blog will absorb all the rants and frustrations..Facebook is just not the place for that
Simsimi
The summer boredom is intellectually killing people to death. Whenever I open my Facebook one of the things that usually greets me are photos of conversations people have with Simsimi.
Simsimi is a conversation app created back in 2002. It is similar with Cleverbot but Simsimi's icon is a lot cuter.
I really feel sorry for the people who engage in a conversation with this AI- induced conversation app. First, don't they have anybody else to talk to? That's why they choose to talk with this thing? I fear where this is going. Second, I really regret all the precious time that these people are wasting on this useless app.
Seriously, people can do so much better with the time they have in their hands.
